    Smart Lock

A secure, IoT‑enabled smart padlock solution offering wireless access control, real‑time monitoring, and rugged protection for assets, facilities, and remote sites.

    Overview

    About Smart Lock

The Smart Padlock Solution combines industrial‑grade hardware with advanced IoT connectivity to deliver secure, flexible, and remotely managed access control for assets, gates, warehouses, construction sites, utilities, and logistics operations. Designed to replace traditional mechanical locks, these smart padlocks integrate BLE, NB‑IoT, LoRaWAN, and optional fingerprint or keypad authentication to ensure only authorized users can unlock assets.

With real‑time event logs, tamper alerts, and remote unlocking capabilities, organizations gain complete visibility and control over access activities across distributed locations. Built with hardened materials, IP‑rated enclosures, and long‑life batteries, the smart padlocks are engineered for harsh outdoor environments such as oil & gas fields, telecom towers, substations, and transportation infrastructure.

Through the IoT management platform, operators can assign digital keys, monitor lock status, track usage history, and receive instant notifications for unauthorized attempts. This modern, scalable approach enhances security, reduces operational costs, and eliminates the inefficiencies of physical key management.

How Smart Lock works, from sensor to cloud platform

Cabinets, gates, chambers and remote enclosures are secured with wireless padlocks, so access is granted to a named person for a defined window and every attempt is recorded.

    Wireless connectivity

    Low power wide area network

Bluetooth to handset, LoRaWAN or NB-IoT for status

Access is authorised through the handset, while lock status, tamper events and battery level are reported to the platform over low power wide area networking or on the next sync.

    Gateways and network server

Where continuous visibility is required, gateways collect lock status directly. Otherwise events are relayed when a technician device syncs, keeping the audit trail complete.

    Cloud platform

    Storage, rules and reporting

    Platform services

Device management, secure ingestion, time series storage, rules and alerting, role based access and open interfaces for integration with the systems already in use.

    • Permission rules per user, asset group and time window
    • Access log with user, asset, time and result
    • Tamper and forced opening alerts
    • Battery and lock health monitoring
    • Audit export for security and compliance review

    Who acts on the data

    Operations and reporting

    Security and operations

Who opened which asset, when, and whether it was authorised.

    Field contractors

Time limited access without physical key handover.

    Compliance

Retained access records for audit and incident investigation.

Smart lock data flow: wireless padlocks authorise access through a technician handset and report lock, tamper and battery status to the cloud platform, which holds the permission rules and the full access audit trail.

    Questions

Smart Lock questions we are asked most

How is access granted to a field technician?
Permission is defined in the platform for a named user, an asset group and a time window. The technician authorises the padlock through the mobile application, and the event is written to the audit trail.
What happens if there is no network at the asset?
Access authorisation works locally between the handset and the padlock, and the event record is synchronised to the platform when connectivity returns, so the audit trail stays complete.
What is recorded for each access?
The asset, the user, the time, the result of the attempt and any tamper or forced opening event, together with the padlock battery level.
